Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) Steroid ID 13
DHEA is a hormone appearing naturally in the body. About 10-15mg is produced daily by the adrenal glands.
Its therapeutic uses include the treatment of adrenal deficiency, ageing and sexual dysfunction. It is used in sport to strengthen muscles and improve alertness but its effects are diminished by simultaneous use of corticosteroids.
Heavy use of DHEA may lead to hair loss - a side-effect common in androgenic steroids - heart irregularities and mood problems.
